LAW ABIDING CITIZEN MOVIE
That was the only real flaw i can see this movie having. Hollywood often tries to convince us that movies are just that, stories, but then when a movie that paints in a bad light a system we all known to be flawed comes, they chicken out, they flag the movie as a liability so let's change the ending, let's make the absent father, dealmaking, obbsesed with his own career lawyer the good guy.

LAW ABIDING CITIZEN PC
In his shoes you would be doing the same probably, but then the PC ending came around and it undermined the whole concept. At that point you are too invested in Clyde as your protagonist and as your skewed moral compass. You cheer when he defends himself in the court, and grin every time he makes a deal and gets his way. Showing you his desperation as father, powerless against the system. They make you root for Clyde the whole movie. If you paint Clyde as an Hyper intelligent being, that clearly worked a few days in the townhall before the final day (the guard recognized him and asked about the eye) so he could've planted a second bomb anytime he wanted. It's not about who wins or lose, it's about staying consistent with the tone of the movie. Nick spins looking back to the prison, then the city.Ĭut to a closeup of Clyde closed eyes he open them, cut to black, Credits

Nick doesn't realize, goes to his monologue about the 25 seconds, it's outside the prison when a BOOM can be heard on the city. Delete the last digit and call a different bomb placed on the townhall Speaking of chess Nick, do you know what the dominant strategy is?Īttacking the king from various angles. You spend the entire movie thinking about who is helping him or how is he doing this alone and then the answer is so disappointingly dumb and the movie tries to pass it off as smart.Ĭlyde and Nick in his cell talking he looks down his phone and the number he has pre-dialed in. His last bomb had no surveillance, tracking device or failsafe for being moved? Foxx managed to get to the prison before him even though he had a head start? Foxx decides to bring the bomb back to the prison with intention of having Butler blow it up and all the cops are just like "okay that sounds reasonable?" Foxx is not in prison after this? Why didn't they just move him to a different cell the moment they found out they were just trolled and butlers secret this whole time was just that he literally left the prison for hours at a time and no one noticed? The problem is how he died makes no sense. Yes obviously he crossed the line ages ago and became a criminal himself (he sent the most gruesome murder vid to a kid ffs). I dont think the reason most people hate the ending is because he died.
